Why Choose Sheffield Girls'?

At Sheffield Girls' School we are proud to offer single-sex education for girls between the ages of 4 and 18.  We believe that the opportunities we offer for girls’ education and personal development make Sheffield Girls'  School a very attractive option -

  • an exceptional range of enrichment opportunities

At GCSE in 2015, the pass rate was 98% grades A*-C and 76% of all grades awarded to girls were A*/A. This compares to the national figure of 28%.  Over 92% of Sheffield Girls' results were at A*-B and well over half the year group of 121 students achieved nine A*/A grades or more with fifteen girls gaining 10 or more A* grades.

At A-level in 2015, 50% of all subjects passed were at grades A*/A, nearly double the national figure of 26%.  Over half the year group achieved a minimum of ABB grades – the requirement of many leading universities.  The school now boasts an unrivalled twelfth year of a 100% pass rate, with 18% of all subjects taken being graded A*.  Almost one third of the year group have straight A*/A results.

These exam results were the best of any school in the area in 2015.

At its latest inspection, the school was rated as 'Excellent' in all nine areas inspected.

A tailored education

Music flourishes throughout the school in our new suite of the most up-to-date equipment. We value the music that is taught in the curriculum and, in addition, there are numerous musical activities which enrich pupils' lives: three choirs, concert bands, swing bands, two orchestras, a string training group and flute group. We have 14 visiting instrumental teachers and lessons can be arranged and examinations taken in school.
